frantic times

it's been a strange week.

i just found out that OnSpec magazine has accepted a story of mine. it won't go into print for a while, and i guess they always reserve the right to reject it even once the cotnract's been signed but still, very cool stuff.

luluzine's also printed another article of mine. i think that makes me a regular contributor.

even though i should be elated, it's been a stressful time: i've gotten some sad news from home, plus moving into a new pad and thowing money around trying to acquire those nasty essentials like a bed and sofa, fridge, oven, maybe a table... some chairs would be nice... these things, while good in the long run, i do not enjoy doing.

finally got hot water after three days of cold water though...

Congrats on all the coverage you are getting with your articles. It's well deserved! Sounds like VSO Nepal didn't do the best job of arranging accomodation... but then they did prepare us for that, didn't they...? Hopefully you'll get it all sorted out soon. Good luck with everything and enjoy!

Speaking of hot water, is there a public bath in your neighbourhood?

Wow hot water, what luxury. I haven't had a hot shower, well a real shower, well I don't want to think about it. Not to mention a fridge, oven, stove, wow VSO Nepal is the place to be (except for the not being paid thing). Enjoying reading about your experiences now that I've plugged back into the blog world.

hey czarina,
fancy seeing you here. drop me an email, i'm interested in finding out how you're doing.

and yes, there's public baths. they're not quite turkish baths though, more like bricked off areas in the ground where people bathe wearing special clothes, like lungis.
